Coating Evaluation Of Bueried Pipelines

Inttec uses the most advanced existing technologies, endorsed by international standards to evaluate the specific condition of the coating in buried pipes. ACVG and DCVG are techniques that are used as a complement to the ACCA to obtain a more complete and accurate evaluation:

DCVG
Direct current method, to evaluate the condition of insulating coatings in buried pipes, with high sensitivity and precision. This technique allows to detect damage in the coating and at the same time to evaluate the corrosive activity of the material exposed to the medium, this advantage allows to infer whether the exposed material is cathodically protected or not, in order to prioritize the rehabilitation plans.

ACVG
Alternating current method that allows to evaluate the condition of buried pipe coating with high sensitivity. Like the DCVG, this technique allows detecting large and small damages (holidays) with great precision.

ACCA
It is a system composed of a portable transmitter from which a special electrical signal is applied to the pipeline under study, and a handheld receiver that allows: precisely locate the pipeline path, measure the depth and perform current mapping; thus providing its magnitude and direction easily and precisely, even in congested areas. It is an effective method that allows to quickly evaluate both the condition of the coating as well as making inferences regarding the performance of the cathodic protection system, since the current used is of a very low frequency (4Hz) that behaves approximately equal to the direct current CPS, which allows locating metal contacts with other structures, electrical insulation faults, and coating defects.
